Proactively Building Resilience

Step Ahead Coaching supports young people, families, schools and businesses to build resilience and positive wellbeing frameworks

Building resilience where it matters most

Step Ahead Coaching supports young people, families, and schools to build the skills needed to navigate pressure, change, and uncertainty with confidence.

WHAT I DO

I partner with you BEFORE life throws you a curved ball.

Adolescence and early adulthood come with rising expectations; academically, socially, and emotionally.
Step Ahead Coaching exists to support students before stress becomes crisis, helping them develop the skills to cope, adapt, and move forward with confidence.

We work alongside families, businesses and schools to provide practical, relational resilience support; not therapy, not tutoring, and not one-size-fits-all programs.

Student

Transitions

We support students through moments where pressure, uncertainty, and change converge; such as senior school, exam years, post-school decisions, and early university life.

Staff

Training

Resilience-informed training for educators and school teams

We work with schools to strengthen staff understanding of student resilience, emotional readiness, and transition stress, supporting sustainable wellbeing practices across the school community.

Infomation Workshops

Guidance for parents supporting students under pressure

Our parent workshops are offered periodically and focus on understanding resilience, recognising stress early, and responding with clarity and confidence.

Each workshop is unique and scheduled throughout the year.

Rather than labels or diagnoses, we focus on building capacity, helping students understand how they respond to pressure and how to strengthen the systems that support them.

Assessment tools and digital resources support the process, but the relationship always comes first.

What is resilience

Resilience is the ability to adapt, recover, and keep functioning well during stress, change, or challenge and to grow from those experiences over time.

How is resilience measured using the PR6 Framework?

The PR6 Framework measures resilience across six evidence-based domains that influence how people respond to pressure, sustain wellbeing, and perform effectively. It provides a clear, structured snapshot of current resilience strengths and vulnerabilities.

Why is it useful to measure resilience?

Measuring resilience helps identify what is supporting you and what may be holding you back. It creates self-awareness, guides targeted development, and provides a baseline to track progress over time.

Can resilience levels change?

Yes. Resilience is not fixed. It can increase or decrease depending on life circumstances, stress levels, and intentional development. With insight and the right strategies, resilience can be strengthened.

Is coaching the same as counselling or therapy?

No. Coaching is future-focused and goal-oriented, supporting growth, performance, and development. Counselling or therapy typically focuses on healing past experiences, mental health concerns, or emotional distress.

Is coaching the same as mentoring?

No. Mentoring involves advice and guidance based on the mentor’s experience. Coaching focuses on asking powerful questions that help clients find their own insights, solutions, and actions.

Can I take the PR6 as a standalone assessment?

Yes. The PR6 can be taken as a standalone assessment to provide valuable insight into your resilience profile. Many clients choose to combine it with coaching to maximise understanding and practical application.
